police tell us there was a warrant out for the 17-year-old foster child for an unrelated matter. she is now on the custody of protective services in montgomery county. who killed her sister is still a mystery. >> we do not have any new developments. >> of the murder of amber, and the murder of marckel ross, who was gunned down while walking to high-school this week. police do not believe the cases are connected, but they say at this point everything is a possibility. >> central high school paying tribute to 18-year-old marckel ross, who was shot and killed while walking to high-school. for many, the pain of the incident is still sinking in. >> i just feel that they still

look at this amazing video we got earlier this morning. one man is in custody facing multiple charges after this police chase. this was about 5:00 this morning. the suspect led officers on to the beltway. he was wanted in connection with first-degree assault charges against an officer. he ran several cruisers and is being charged with numerous traffic offenses as well as criminal charges. >> a man is hospitalized after an accident involving a metro bus. it happened around 9:00 this morning around sixth and east st. in southwest washington. the buses did not hit the man but hit a barrier. the barrier then fell and hit the man while he was walking. he had to be taken to an area hospital but we are told his injuries were not serious. >> also new today, a construction worker hospitalized after falling some 30 feet.

the alexandria fire department responded to this call at madison and north hendry. the worker fell through an opening in a concrete parking deck under construction. because of the accident is still under investigation. -- because of the accident is still under investigation. >> a woman stabbed a man in the 300 block of bryan street yesterday, killing him. the deadly confrontation started with the man heading the woman. we're looking into the story and will have much more coming up tonight at 5:00. >> the fed announced a plan to bolster the u.s. economy and that sent stocks up in anticipation. the experts are not sure the plan will do all that much. economists say rates and mortgages are already just above all-time lows and that lessens the impact of the move to buy more bonds.

one thing that is expected to boost the economy slightly, is the new apple iphone. it could add half a percentage point to annual growth according to the chief u.s. economist at j.p. morgan. in comparison, the fed plan is expected to boost the economy by one-fifth of a percentage point at best. >> this morning hospital officials tell the ground- breaking ceremony for their new cancer center. it will become the fourth hospital within the system to provide radiation therapy. >> hopping on the campaign trail now, president obama will attend a campaign event at a private residence in thedistrict tonight. the first lady will be at a fund-raiser in the district this afternoon. joe biden and his wife will attend three events in minnesota. >> meantime, republicans are keeping their focus on virginia.

these showers are expected to meet up with the drier air across the mid-atlantic. that will move across our area later tonight and early tomorrow morning. here is our future cast moving through the next 48 hours. highs will be around 80 degrees. the clouds increase later on tonight. the showers really fizzle out. saturday, comfortable temperatures, a 70-80, and clear for the day on sunday. partly cloudy and comfortable today, 78-83 for the daytime high. tonight, the concert looks dry. temperatures 56-64. the extended outlook shows our temperatures will remain comfortable. sunday and monday, better chance for widespread showers, even some heavier rain as we move into monday night and tuesday. we have a very interesting blog just posted on wjla.com talking
